OMG! Animal Rights + Infant Wear = Super-Fun

OMG! Animal Rights +
Infant Wear = Super-Fun!
I was cruising through PETA’s Merchandise Department the other day and saw these jaw-droppingly cute onesies. My dude is a little small for the 6-month size, but I couldn’t resist, and I’m glad I didn’t! This morning when I dropped him off at the church pre-school where he spends a few hours a day, the ladies went nuts! In addition to the fact that he’s handsome and perfect, the “Give Peas a Chance ―Go Vegetarian” onesie is just too adorable―look closely and you’ll see that one of the little pea-pod babies has a binky!
Anyway, his little onesie helped start a couple of conversations about being vegetarian, and then one of the gals wanted to know where she could get some sweet PETA gear for her nieces … it was a whole lot of pro-animal fun. Next up, it’s the “Animals Are Our Friends” bib to protect the onesie from food disasters.

This is wonderfull!!!!! I am a mother of one and one on the way. I am a vegetarian, but my husband isn’t. It’s a fight a lot of the time on what’s right for our kids…. he’s a compassionet man… but anyways I think that onesie is fabulos and I think it’s a great idea! How long have you been a vegetarian and do you find it easy to keep your precious little guy healthy on a vegetarian diet? Thanks!

Hi Amy, thanks for your questions and congratulations on your decision to be a wonderful, compassionate example for your kids! I’ve been veg for about seven years. It’s been easy keeping Isaiah on a veg diet, since I’m breastfeeding, though I do give him a soy-based formula on occassion. A book that I’ve found to be really useful is “Raising Vegetarian Children” (you can buy it on Amazon through PETAMall.com and a bit of the proceeds will go to PETA). The book has a lot of really helpful tips on nutrition for kids of all ages, from pregnancy through the teen years, and good kid-friendly recipes, plus menu suggestions for breastfeeding moms. It’s an amazing resource. I could go on and on. Let me know if you’re have any other questions — I’m happy to help in whatever way I can!
