So, I was downtown with some friends the other week, and I spotted the cutest shoes. I picked them up, and there—in big, beautiful, shiny gold letters—was the word “Vegan” printed inside the soles! I usually find fab leather-free shoes at places like Target or Payless, but this clearly called for a splurge. Besides, I say there’s nothing selfish about buying animal-friendly shoes: Every time I get compliments on them, I get to help animals by saying, “Thanks! They’re leather-free!”

Whether your style is comfy and casual or spiked and sky-high, cute vegan shoes have never been easier to find. To prove it, here’s our list of the top 10 places to find vegan women’s shoes!

1. Zappos.com is an especially good place to find sporty sandals and sneaks (just sort by “vegetarian” shoes)—and you get free shipping! There is something for everyone, and you can even get Stella McCartney’s line of vegan shoes for Adidas!

2. Bourgeois Boheme has causal and elegant dress footwear—with lots of stellar boots, bags, wallets, belts, cosmetics, and more.

3. There’s no “moo” in Moo Shoes, but you will find tons of fun slip-ons, unique heels and sandals, and even some cozy boots.

4. Payless ShoeSource sells tons of adorable vegan shoes for so cheap that you don’t have to feel guilty about buying three or four pairs at a time!

5. Target hits the mark with surprisingly stylish and always affordable leather-free kicks.

6. Chinese Laundry has a super-amazing vegan line with sexy, strappy sandals, kitten-heeled pumps, sweet Mary Janes, and just about anything else a girl could want.

7. Life Stride’s nearly 100% vegan line of business-casual shoes can be found at department stores like Dillards, and they’re the perfect complement to your power suit.

8. Alternative Outfitters has rounded up an amazing selection of to-die-for vegan “foot candy” for your shopping convenience.

9. Add some funk to your wardrobe with a pair of retro-inspired heels, sneakers, or chunky “vegan leather” boots from T.U.K.

10. If your journey to find great vegan shoes takes you to the mall, Journeys has lots of vegan options for colorful sneakers, platform heels, skateboarding shoes, and more.

Tell us about your favorite vegan shoes!

  1. Stephanie Says:

Love the fact that Chinese Laundry makes such great trendy shoes for Vegans!

  2. Serena Says:

Girl, thanks for the links! It’s good to know there are tons of places beyond Traget and Payless for cute vegan shoes. I love Stella’s Adidas line. It’s totally jazzz!

  3. BarkingDogShoes Says:

There are my favorite vegan shoes by far–the J-41 Seville. Vegan, Cute, COMFY!

  4. Nathan Says:

Yeah, great. Another blog on where women can find vegan shoes. Is this even an issue anymore? Try finding a website for great MEN’s vegan shoes that don’t look like nutty goth and/or unbathed hippie “kicks.” Being a vegan is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, however it would be nice if I could have more options around the office.

  5. Cal Says:

Earth Shoes has some Vegan shoes..

Vans also has some vegan shoes…

  6. Linda Says:

You make a good point, but besides animal rights, what about human rights? Payless and Target sell budget shoes from companies that outsource to countries with child labor and minimal wages.

  7. Krystal Says:

Do any of these sites post to Australia?

  8. Ann Pinkerton Says:

Zappos has the best selection of shoes.

  9. B.L. Says:

For those looking, the J-41 Seville (listed above) is NOT VEGAN.

I contacted the company to find out where I could try on a pair and in their reply they informed me that while their Madrid style is vegan, the Seville has a leather insole. What a shame! It’s a really cute shoe - all they need to do is switch the insole material.

Looking forward to hearing about comfortable, stylish vegan shoes from others out there. I have found the vegan shoes I have purchased from Target, Payless, etc. to be uncomfortable and cheaply made. When will a company make quality, comfortable and stylish vegan shoes?

  10. Kim Says:

Vegetarianshoesandbags.com also has a great selection.

  11. Ebet Says:

My new favorites include Ragazzi Vegan (www.ragazzivegan.com) based in California, and Vegetarian Shoes in the U.K. (http://www.vegetarian-shoes.co.uk/). Freerangers is another cool UK manufacturer(http://www.freerangers.co.uk/index2.htm) that makes vegan shoes to order for a reasonable price. Melissa Shoes are pretty neat too: http://www.melissaplasticdreams.com/home/usa.

  12. Mark Pozo Says:

We like to brag about our website and the varity of mens and womans footwear we have to offer. Check us out. http://www.ragazzivegan.com

  13. Sandy Says:

This is a great list, but of all these stores, how many of them make/sell shoes in narrow widths?

You might want to check out Maryland Square catalog. There are some shoes there that are not made from animals (and are waterproof to boot!).

  14. Lana Says:

Be careful ordering from Ragazzi Vegan. I ordered a pair of shoes in size 8 and the order was confirmed online. I received a pair of size 7.5 with a scribbled note that I should try them as they were out of size 8. I returned them and they did not refund my money and will not respond to emails and their phone is disconnected. Guess I’m out the $48.

  15. Lana Says:

Went online and found that a number of other people have had the same problem getting their money back from Ragazzi Vegan. Natural Living for Women has removed them from their website. Check out the blog.

  16. Phil Says:

I stumbled on this page and hope it’s not too late for some people to see my input.

Anyhow, you can get Ragazzi Vegan shoes from a few online retailers who place a high priority on customer service. This may help people avoid possible issues with Ragazzi’s retail fulfillment process.

  17. Heather Says:

Hey you are missing one.. http://www.charmone.com Awesome shoes!!They are in the middle of a sale too. Very nice ladies who own the company. I have them on Facebook & twitter, and they emailed me personaly about a shoe issue I had for sizing them. Bonus points for me when someone helps me out like that, goes the extra step!

    :)

  18. Rob Says:

Really disappointed with the range of men’s vegan shows available in the UK. I need some professional work shoes - Vegetarian Shoes (Oxfords) used to be very good 8 years ago, but now they just look cheap and nasty and mishapen, and they are still expensive - I would pay 80 pounds if they were as good as they used to be but not how they are now. I’d also like some trendy ankle length dress boots to wear with jeans or trousers on nights out (have a look at Aldo’s range for ideas). Nothing available like this at all. I’ve been vegan for over 20 years and the last 5 years things have got worse. The women’s ranges seem to be much better, some contemporary, stylish and innovative designs available, the men’s ranges are lagging way behind :(

  19. Paula Says:

Hi there, NAE have great men shoes, including professional working shoes that dont suck :) ….
    take a look at http://www.nae-vegan.com

  20. Nalleli Barajas Says:

It’s great to know that there are so many different options of vegetarian shoes, I’d like to know where in Mexico City can I find this kind of shoes and clothes.

    Regards,

    Nalleli Barajas.

  21. Lisa Says:

I would like to add that Overstock has some vegan shoes and bags (lots of Chinese Laundry bags)in their selection, and unlike Amazon, they do not sell fur.

  22. Lisa Says:

Also the Animal Rescue store has vegan shoes and bags. A small selection but proceeds go to charity. Plus the prices are not expensive.

  23. JT Says:

    Amazon has 343 vegetarian women’s shoes - didn’t check men’s.

  24. JT Says:

Okay, most of Amazon’s seem to be designed for either clowns or drag queens. But I always get nice, normal boots at J.C. Penney’s, and you can’t beat their sales. And you can try them on and easily return.

  25. Kristen Says:

    this was so helpful, thanks!

  26. Michelle Says:

We don’t have these in South Africa ! Please help !
