Win a Messenger Bag From Tom Bihn!

School is back in session, but if you’re still searching for that perfect vegan bag that’s big enough to hold your laptop and a pile of books, look no further than Tom Bihn.
We are giving away one of Tom Bihn’s “Super Ego” bags to help you get organized to hold all your stuff—so your hands are free to hold your soy latté or to pass out copies of PETA’s “Vegetarian Starter Kit”!
For a chance to win the Super Ego, just leave a short message and tell us something that you are going to do—on your own or with your family—for animals this school year.
The contest ends on September 15, and one winner will be selected and notified by September 22. And just so you know … by leaving a comment, you’re acknowledging that you’ve read and agreed to our privacy policy and our terms and conditions. Good luck!

I have recently turned vegan. My hopes are to replace everything I own with vegan and eco-friendly items. My goal for this school year is to convert as many of my friends as I can to be vegetarian or vegan. My ultimate dream would be to get vegan items in my school cafeteria.
August 23rd, 2008 at 12:48 pm
I have also been trying to turn Vegan.
August 23rd, 2008 at 1:37 pm
Over the Summer, I have become entirely vegetarian, and have begun making my entire family vegetarian as well. My plan is that after that, we can all be vegan and thus get rid of animal products entirely; it’d be much more humane than what our diet used to be, and a lot healthier. This school year, I plan on showing your website, meat.org, to as many people as possible. So far I’ve already gotten three of my classmates to never want to eat meat again, along with a teacher. Hopefully I can educate everyone in my class about the inhumane torture of animals for consumption, and at the very least make people wary of eating meat. It would be even better if all of my classmates went vegetarian or vegan, which I hope will happen.
August 23rd, 2008 at 4:33 pm
Last year I adopted a 9 year old cat from an animal shelter. Since then I’ve been volunteering at the animal shelter in Boston walking dogs and cleaning cat cages. I even went down to New Orleans for a week and spent a day at Animal Rescue New Orleans. In the coming year I plan on continuing to volunteer at the shelter. My volunteer organization can only go to the shelter if a team leader is available to lead the group. Soon I’m going to become a team leader to help fill the gap in the volunteering schedule.
August 23rd, 2008 at 5:52 pm
My goals this year are to:
Convince my mom to let me be vegan (accomplished)
Decorate my locker and school stuff with peta stickers posters and decal (accomplished)
Convince at least one person to become vegetarian-if not vegan. (accomplished)
Give out as much information, and recruit as many people to the street team as possible. (4 people recruited so far)
Volunteer at an animal shelter
Save an abused or abandoned animal.
That’s all my ideas so far, I’m still working on more

Im a College student I took yoga over summer term as a way to get in shape, and for a gym credit. I loved it so much that for fall im doing Yoga 2. Each yoga 2 student gets to teach one of the classes from start to finish we plan the exercise, and then what is talked about after that. Im planning to talk about animal cruelty, and Peta films will be on the list of things shown. Also how traditionally people who do yoga have been vegetarians, and the benefits from that lifestyle.
August 24th, 2008 at 5:42 am
i am vegan from 13 years.i have turned vegan my grandmother, elder brother, sister as well my friend.i am also trying to turned vegan my remaining friend.i want at least my family and my friend become vegetarian.
August 24th, 2008 at 11:03 am
I’m already a vegan (have been for about 4 years, I think). I’m going to volunteer my time to help in a small shop (all items vegan).
August 24th, 2008 at 12:23 pm
I recently stumbled accross the Peta web site and it changed my life forever. After watching the horrifing way that animals are treated, I vowed never to participate in that lifestyle again. Luckily, my husband and family have been very supportive. But everyone does not sway so easily. I have one neighbor in particular that was making little comments about vegetarians and vegans (uneducated, of course) and instead of arguing my point of view I decided to show him. I sent along a wonderful vegan dish I had created, along with a copy of the vegetarian starter kit. The next day he said that he had no idea the meat industry was so bad, and his family has started to phase meat out of their diet. He is now constantly asking us what we are eating for dinner and loves the sample plates that I send them. I have also done the same thing with other family and friends. I think people will feel like they are missing out and they don’t know how great vegan dishes can be until they try them. So this school year I plan to dish out as many leftovers and vegetarian starter kits that I can!
Go Veg!!!

Since I was little, my family created New School Year Resolution. While NYE resolutions usually focus around improving yourself, NSY Resolutions had to focus around improving the world in both small or big ways, but ways that were manageable through the year. Last year, I stopped buying leather (which will continue indefinately) This year, my plan is to really focus in on products not tested on animal. I have found a new hair stylist that only uses organic, animal friendly dies and products, have promised myself to be completely devoted to MAC for cosmetics (i know, huge sacrifice, right!?) and will work to expand my repretoire of animal-friendly clotheires and products. Every little bit helps, right!?
August 24th, 2008 at 7:07 pm
This fall im starting school in Santa cruz, my school is in a forest which means that i will come across all sorts of animals and i plan on protecting any animal that seams to be in any danger. My school also has a veggie food selection as well as vegan and i am planning to slowly become a veggie eater only. I have already began to use cruelty free products such as soaps and shampoos such as giovanni hair products!
August 24th, 2008 at 8:20 pm
I went vegetarian at first for the health benefits and for weight loss goals. I didnt know about all the cruelty that was taking place in the lives of our “food”. This school year I plan to further spread the word about animal cruelty and go from just not eating meat to not wearing meat or supporting meat.
August 24th, 2008 at 10:44 pm
Actually on September 1st, the day I move back into school I am becoming completely vegan. I have been a vegetarian for over 4 years now and decided to make the complete crossover and change my lifestyle to make a better impact on the treatment of animals. I even got my mom to make her famous zucchini bread with bananas instead of eggs for a better alternative. She says that it even tastes better and that even though she’s not going to become vegan that she was definitely going to try out more substitutions. That personally meant a lot to me coming from her to help in even the smallest way to help the battle against cruelty of animals. Also right now my school has some vegan options but I also work for the food distributor and I am planning on a meeting with my schools food director about introducing a better selection of vegan options to the menu.
August 25th, 2008 at 10:38 am
After reading an article on Alicia Silverstone two years ago, I decided to become a vegetarian. Just by ordering/eating meatless meals has given me the opportunity to share my decision with others. This year, I want to educate myself and my family on other ways to avoid purchasing/supporting companies that harm animals. Namely, by reading the peta blog everyday and finding great companies that put animals and the environment first before profit. Brandy
August 25th, 2008 at 11:45 am
Recently I’ve decided to become a vegan shopper, and am slowly but surely attempting to change everything over.
August 25th, 2008 at 3:35 pm
I have become a vegetarian, not only for the sake of preventing animal cruelty, but also for the environment. The livestock business yields less food per acre as opposed to crop fields, which means that people are encouraging rainforest loss by eating meat.
Aside from encouraging more schools to have vegan-safe options, one of my goals is to show people how easy it is to be vegan by making vegan baked goods for them. I hope that I can get more people to accept vegetarian and vegan lifestyles, and maybe get them to realize what they’re doing (both to the environment and to animals) by eating meat and using animal products.
August 25th, 2008 at 4:34 pm
I am going to get active for animals! I already have a few anti-fur demos set up, along with anti-vivisection. I can’t wait to get back out there.
August 25th, 2008 at 4:39 pm
i have been vegetarian for nearly 16 years now…and i am very proud of this fact. when i do buy eggs or dairy, i only purchase true cage free, veg fed, organic products…which i know is doing a part in creating change. anyway it is everyone’s choice to go vegan or veg- but it isn’t hard, is all people should know. you don’t miss it- especially when you know a farm animal has a better life for your choice!
August 25th, 2008 at 4:40 pm
Eat more vegetarian foods.
August 25th, 2008 at 4:49 pm
I have adopted 2 rescue ferrets. I am going to start volunteering 2 days a week at the local animal shelter. I am trying to care for my ferrets holistically and also myself. I no longer mostly use chemicals for cleaning. I am talking to my friends to find ways to Go Green more!
August 25th, 2008 at 4:51 pm
My husband and I have either adopted or brought in strays - we currently have 3 cats (indoor only) and 2 dogs (indoor mostly) who are part of our permanent family.
We just helped a friend who wanted to adopt a stray cat but needed assistance with the pet deposit and funds to get his kitten spayed.
I try to educate my friends / family and those I meet about the importance of humane treatment and spay/neutering. I plan to continue this. I also pass out brochures on which ‘human’ foods dogs shouldn’t eat.
August 25th, 2008 at 5:13 pm
I’ve been buying bookmarks from various animal charities and donating them to the library I work for. Our patrons love to grab a bookmark or two when checking out books. I’ve also been donating money to the library in honor of my co-workers’ birthdays–the books are always about animal welfare.
August 25th, 2008 at 5:33 pm
I have been vegetarian since February of this year, and am gradually phasing out all animal products to become vegan. It is certainly a challenge but lots of fun and very educational at the same time! My husband and step-sons persist in their meat-eating ways, but not as frequently as before. My goal is to have them choose a vegetarian or vegan meal all on their own by the end of the year, or better yet make one for the family to eat together for dinner!
August 25th, 2008 at 5:46 pm
As a flight attendant i am suggesting new healthful vegetarian options to be added to our onboard menus. i also want to get our leather shoes requirement changed to include options for vegans. in my personal life i want to begin making more vegan meals and snacks to have around the crashpad so that i may subtly entice my roommates into the vegetarian lifestyle.
August 25th, 2008 at 6:13 pm
This year I plan to have my first Art show and donate a portion of my sales to PETA. I have been a vocal vegetarian for most of my life and now plan to use my (rediscovered) passion for painting to allow me to (finally) put my money where my mouth is! I have sold a few paintings privately and feel ready to put my heart on the line and open myself up to a public viewing. Knowing that I may be able to help fund future PETA endeavors will certainly motivate me to keep painting and selling!
August 25th, 2008 at 6:25 pm
i have 5 dog 3 are rescues and wish to keep rescuing dogs
August 25th, 2008 at 6:38 pm
we rescued a “greased”pig from a rodeo contest and we’re raising it as a pet. A very very smart pet!
August 25th, 2008 at 6:49 pm
1) I’ve volunteered 200 hours at an animal shelter in the past two years. The people who work there see nothing wrong with killing animals for food, entertainment, and clothes. It’s irritating to work there, but I care about working for the animals’ well-beings, so i endure it anyway. I will keep going there and getting volunteers for the shelter.
2) Hold a walk a thon to buy food and supplies for the animals at the shelter. I raised $2,000 this year (with only 30 walkers on father’s day)
3)Switch to soymilk.
4)Continue buying Leaping Bunny-certified products.
5) Keep buying organic products (food, clothes, office supplies and accessories) so animals don’t have to suffer from pesticides.
6)Begin a slow switch to veganism (I am vegetarian)
7)Turn my mom into a vegetarian (she’s on her way, with a few other family members as well)
August 25th, 2008 at 7:11 pm
I am involved in with fashion industry, and I am continuiously appauled by the amount of animal products(furs, pelts, skin etc..) that so many designers use in their lines. I wished more designers and celebrities etc.. would take a stand and stop supporting the designers that use animal products in their lines, and go animal free. I am excited that the fashion designers that DO respect animals and believe in animal rights have decided to take a stand and be the leaders of what Smart Cruelty-free Fashion looks like. I proudly stand behind and wear animal free fashions!!
August 25th, 2008 at 9:00 pm
I’ve made a commitment to myself and the animals to be a Vegan on June 1st, 2008. My spirit is strong and I feel 100 (million) times better than ever!! What am I going to do you ask?? I’m going to continue to stay on this clear path and maintain this strong commitment!
Making my choice of eating, clothing, and pampering with a clear mind is so freeing. Thank you for such a great website to teach folks the truth!!
August 25th, 2008 at 9:18 pm
I am finally going back to school at 35 and back when I was in high school I used to pass out PETA material and passed out lists of all companies who did animal testing. I ended up fading away from PETA due to family obligations and now I am back with PETA and on Care2.com a lot too signing petitions and I just went vegie again too. It is weird how everything always comes full circle.
August 25th, 2008 at 9:38 pm
Every year before Thanksgiving I send emails out to all my friends and family with photos of Turkeys you can adopt (sponsor). I ask everyone to tell me which one they think I should adopt. I go with the majority vote and adopt the winner. I also send out information on how to have a fun, animal free holiday. I’ll be doing it again this year.
August 25th, 2008 at 10:00 pm
It was one year ago that I vowed to live a vegan lifestyle as best as I can. Not only have I made the necessary changes but also have influenced many people in my life to make changes in their own life no matter how large or small. Some have become vegan themselves and others have limited their meat and dairy consumption. I currently live in the state of Maryland and I am taking the necessary steps to be able to volunteer for the Maryland State Animal Response Team (SART) by enrolling in the Distaster Oriented Training. Upon completion of the coursees I will be able to volunteer and hopefully make a difference for the welfare of animals. I look forward to becoming their voice!
August 26th, 2008 at 12:00 am
I jus recently started to eat less meat..i am not completely vegan yet.but im getting there.
I wish to eradicate meat , milk , eggs from my menu but need to do it one at a time. i will be so proud to be a vegan..for life!
August 26th, 2008 at 1:00 am
I am going to write a lot of letters to persons who induce animal cruelty.
August 26th, 2008 at 3:35 am
I’m not a vegan, love cheese way too much!!! Oh an honey
But I do care very much about the rights and protection of all animals. I’m very excited to have found PETA’s Cruelty Free label on some Tom’s of Maine products which lead me to PETA’s site(of course! I’ve been a PETA supporter for many years)and more great initiatives and information. I’m writing an article and will be posting it with links on my blog, for friends and family, on the Cruelty Free label and products.
August 26th, 2008 at 8:07 am
i plan to work with my state’s legislation to change the lack of laws against chaining dogs. in indiana, especially the rural areas, there is no enforcement to remove your dog from a chain… no regulation or guidelines at all. this must be changed!
August 26th, 2008 at 8:47 am
Buying an organic shirt - $20.00
Adopting a dog from the humane society $100.00
Ordering a veggie burger at the local restaurant down the street- $5.99
The feeling of knowing you saved an animal’s life- priceless
August 26th, 2008 at 9:07 am
I am attending a workshop at Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, NY this weekend. I am a vegetarian but I’m ashamed to say that I had fallen off the wagon a few months ago. I’m back to my regular eating habits but feel that this workshop will make me even more dedicated to my cause. Trying to go vegan but find it some what difficult. I’ll keep trying until I succeed.
August 26th, 2008 at 9:42 am
I am going to adopt a dog or a cat. Or both!
August 26th, 2008 at 9:51 am

August 26th, 2008 at 10:38 am
During the school year, I’m going to be volunteering at a local animal shelter on weekends and periodically throughout the year at pet adoption community events. Hopefully these avenues will open new chances for me to act on behalf of animals’ rights and safety.
August 26th, 2008 at 10:39 am
I’m a vegan, although I’ve been a vegetarian since I was 16 years old (that was 27 years ago!). My 13-year-old daughter recently became a vegetarian because she says she “loves chickens too much”. I’ve been a long time supporter of PETA and I am really glad that so many younger people are recognizing that when we hurt animals we are really hurting ourselves. And vegetarianism is contagoius–I recently challenged the students I teach (i teach in college) to go veg for a week. And some of them continued even after the assignment!

I am going to adopt a dog to give it to my mother-in-law.
August 26th, 2008 at 11:36 am
I adopted two cats that were basically disposed of by their former owners. I’m going to give them the best food that money can buy!
August 26th, 2008 at 12:45 pm
I have 3 elderly cats that I am going to continue to love and care for.
I have become more aware of animal cruelty by educating myself via PETA. I am changing how I eat and the products I buy and use.
I am encouraging my family to read Slaughterhouse which really opened by eyes to the extreme cruelty to farm animals. Also I am encouraging my family to read Fast Food Nation. I am aware and am trying to convince others we must change how we eat for the long term.
August 26th, 2008 at 3:40 pm
volunteering at a shelter, feeding animals outside when it gets colder when they cannot get food for themselves becuase the ground is frozen
August 26th, 2008 at 3:56 pm
I have been vegetarian for life…but my goal is to go vegan! I have been slowly fading things out one by one and all thats left is cheese!
August 26th, 2008 at 4:46 pm
I’m going to give a speech at my son’s school about respecting all animals!
August 26th, 2008 at 4:50 pm
I’m going to convince one person each month to go Vegetarian.
I’ll be their conscience when they’re tempted to eat that burger or chicken wing.
August 26th, 2008 at 4:51 pm
Last year I did the PhillyPaws 1st annual mutt strut. It a bunch of dogs walking together from the shelter and you can also bring your own dog. Each person registers and raises money to save shelter animals. I am going to get a team together with my family and friends and hopefully become one of the top fundraisers!
P.S. Thanks PETA for all you do.
August 26th, 2008 at 5:05 pm
We just adopted a dog.
August 26th, 2008 at 5:20 pm
I have a vegetarian household, and it’s nice when I have family and friends over because I educate them on what we’re eating and how we can all do our part. More often I have been buying vegan body products and using products that are not tested on any animals, and giving gifts such as those to friends and family.
August 26th, 2008 at 5:25 pm

This year, I’m going to educate as many people as I can about what they are putting into their bodies. I’m going to show not only the health dangers, but the cruelty of eating meat as well. For me, I’m going to finally take the plunge and go vegan. I’ve been vegetarian for about 10 years now.
August 26th, 2008 at 5:56 pm
I’ve been a vegetarian for 6-7 years so far, and I just turned 16. It was a life-changing experience, and so was turning vegan. I was sadly a vegan for only 4-5 months, since my dad purposely fed me expired rice milk and tofu, and my mom demanded a stop to my diet. During those months I had never felt better! I still try to omit as many animal-derived products from my diet, like honey, yogurt, and milk. Also, leather is a big no no! I’m always on the lookout for nice vegan belts/accessories.
For the next month or so, I’m trying to educate as many people as possible about the vegan lifestyle. I even wrote an essay about it last year in class, and presented it. It was a success!! So many students were surprised by the nature of violence in the livestock system…I’m also trying to incorporate my beliefs into my art, since I’m an artist. To spread the word, yo~!! Also, I’m pretty excited to volunteer this year at the animal shelter, even though I already have 300+ hours logged in from the zoo and hospital!
August 26th, 2008 at 5:58 pm
To make things more clear, I’m STILL a vegetarian!! FOR LIFE!!
August 26th, 2008 at 6:03 pm
I have been Vegan for 10 months. I don’t preach to others to make them want to be vegan, my improved health and weight loss raise questions enough for me to share my beliefs and passions with others in a positive manner. I donate ten bucks a month to the national resource defense counsil. It’s not a ton, but every bit helps.
I intend to continue sharing my knowledge, and my two favorite books (Skinny Bitch and The Green Book) with my friends, family and co workers. My husband is not vegan, but has been heading that way through gradual acceptance and understanding of the animal cruelty, health and environmental impacts of being vegan versus a meat and dairy consumer. I am 26, and have a 6 year old son. It was disheartening to me today to see the giant “got milk” signs all over the cafeteria bosting teen celebrities and pictures of kids with milk mustaches. My son prefers soy milk, and I am frankly concerned that he does have a milk allergy, and intend to speak with the school about this concern and offering milk alternatives to children. The public school system is a nightmare with lunch and health, but each voice matters, and I will kindly work to get mine heard.
August 26th, 2008 at 6:08 pm
I’ve been a vegetarian for 3 years and a Vegan for 30 days. It’s been the most liberating feeling of my life. I just ordered 27 “Ask Me Why I’m a Vegan” pins from Peta and have offered them to Vegans in the on-line forum I frequent in return for them keeping records of how many inquiries they get for 30 days. A lot of compassionate Vegans don’t know how to start the conversation and a button gives strangers permission to ask.
August 26th, 2008 at 6:10 pm
I am trying to always make conscious decisions about what I eat, what I purchase, and how I treat my fellow earthlings.
August 26th, 2008 at 6:11 pm
My goal this year is to convince others that they CAN live without meat and other products made from animals. I’ve lived without them since age 10 and I am totally healthy and happy.
August 26th, 2008 at 6:17 pm
I am phasing meat out and am slowly doing so with my family as well. I have recently under went some major hormone changes, and I am only 34. I think I have meat to blame for this, w/all of the hormones and additives in our foods, who knows what we are eating anyway? Society has made us fast food monsters, let’s change it!!!
August 26th, 2008 at 6:25 pm
There are several things that I have done or are going to do this year. First, my husband and I have been vegan since the beginning of the year and we absolutely love it.
My plan is to educate people on how to become vegan and how it will help save animals and the environment. I also plan to leave reminders of how everyone can become vegan in my workplace.
I have a consultant business for The Body Shop at Home that does not test on animals so this is a great way to continue to show my support for what I am doing and what others are also doing. In addition, I use the products that I sell through my consultant business because it is for a great cause.
Finally, I try to put the word out on how to become a vegan on my myspace and facebook profile in hopes that it will help others change their ways.
August 26th, 2008 at 6:31 pm
I love being vegan so much, I just wish I found out about it sooner. I love educating my friends and filling them in on what society doesn’t want you to know.
August 26th, 2008 at 6:43 pm
Um, the firs thing any ‘animal lover’ should do…not eat them!
August 26th, 2008 at 6:43 pm
This year I am determined to get my boyfriend to go veg! I don’t want him to do it just to make me happy though, I want it to come from his own heart, so I am sending him videos, stickers, and cute apparel, and making him delicious vegan food to show him giving up animal flesh does not mean giving up great taste.
August 26th, 2008 at 6:50 pm
I went vegan this summer and am sure that I will stay that way for the rest of my life!
When they askes us on the first day of school to tell something about ourselves, I said, “Hi, I’m Rod and I’m a vegan and a big-time animal rights activist.”
Every year we have to construct a visual project which the whole public can come and see. This year, I am doing my project on the horrors of factory farming and how easy it is to go vegan! I hope people will take my project seriously and consider changing their diet to improve their health, the environment, and the lives of animals all over the country.
August 26th, 2008 at 6:56 pm
I adopted a puppy from animal control in Alabama, I live in TN. My sister and I spent 2 hours picking fleas off her. I plan to take care of her and urge people to adopt rather than buy from a breeder.
August 26th, 2008 at 7:37 pm
This year, on the days I don’t play nurse, I plan on devoting some of my time as a volunteer at my local SPCA. I also plan to start a food drive at work for that same facility.
I recently went VEGAN, July 27th to be exact, after reading a flier handed out at Warped Tour. I went online and was disgusted at what I saw. I couldn’t believe what I was putting in my body as well as my family’s. They’re coming slowly to vegetarianism, but I can feel it happening. (And it makes me so proud.)
August 26th, 2008 at 7:40 pm
I have been a vegetarian since the age of 10. I am working on gathering more information to ensure I am not wearing any clothing and accesories that were made through Animal cruelty and passing the information on to all of my friends, co workers, ect.
Thank you.
August 26th, 2008 at 7:52 pm
I’ve been a vegetarian for 3 years now after discovering an abandoned deer carcass in the woods near my home. It’s so important that humans realize that they are not the rulers of the universe. People need to humble themselves and look into the eyes of the suffering animals they are devouring. The school I’m attending has one of the widest arrays for vegetarian foods in the country and I plan to spread the word to more selfish meat mongers that meat is out, with the help of PETA and more advocates at my university I plan to have at least a biweekly educational meeting about veganism and vegetarianism explaining the health benefits as well as the ecosystem benefits. As well as teaching these students that vegetarian foods are easily accessible.

I’m 10 years old and my mom showed me your website and after looking at Meet your meat. I’m now vegan and my family vegetarian. I tell all my friends at school and I’m focusing on ridding the world of animal testing as my mission. I’m spreading the word about Mars, Inc. and My mom is going to help me write a letter to them. I love PETA!!!!

-I have been a vegetarian since I was 14. I’m 30 now. I have recently begun researching how to become a vegan without having to give up my favorite non-vegan items.
-I would like to find a way that I can encourage restaurants to include vegetarian and vegan foods on their menus (not just a veggie burger here and there). I am so sick of going to a restaurant and ordering a salad or a baked potato because the menu has nothing else to offer me.
-I volunteer regularly at a local no-kill shelter, which I have done for years.
-I have begun the process of donating any non-vegan clothing and shoes that I come across in my closet, including anything that my boyfriend has (he is not vegetarian … but he eats everything I eat at home. I’m working on it!)
-I’m also getting rid of things in my home made by companies that are not on the cruelty-free list and replacing them with products that are not tested on animals AND eco-friendly.
-I am very dedicated to cleaning up the environment and helping our friends who need us to be their voice. I have recently begun to get politically involved in helping both animals and the environment by joining petitions, and by calling and emailing my state representatives. I may only be one small voice. But together our voices can be loud and WILL be heard!

I met someone this year who opened my eyes. She showed me the truth, and I was appalled. I immediately went vegetarian, and am slowly working my way toward becoming vegan.
My family has always been a “meat and potatoes” kind of people, so they’re reluctant to listen. However, my Dad now stocks veggie burgers and other faux meats with every grocery purchase. He claims it’s for me, but when he thinks no one’s looking I catch him eating them.
My mom has snuck faux meat into the chili and spaghetti. I don’t eat it so no one is the wiser. Everyone says how wonderful it tastes. Now I’m waiting for the right moment to tell them. I want them to see that there is life after meat.
Aside from this, I’ve had many conversations with friends about animal rights. It’s a slow process, but I know it’s getting through. I love hearing someone repeat something I’ve told them, and add their own bits of information. That means they’ve done their own research.
I know this isn’t a gigantic step. I’m not running off and freeing animals. But I think the biggest changes start small. They start with one person. And this time, it’s starting with me.
August 26th, 2008 at 9:01 pm
I’ve been veggie since I was 16, raised my teen daughter veggie and when she was 11 she decided to go vegan and finally gave me the push I needed to do the same.
Last year at my University I had to design a website, in the front page I put a huge quote by animal rights abolitionist Gary L. Francione that calls for people to go vegan as the ultimate way of alleviating animal suffering.
This year, I’d like to organize a McVegan demo on campus. McVegan uses participation from local veggie-friendly stores and businesses to spread the vegan word and pump more business into compassionate companies.
=^_^= Peace and carrots! =^_^=

I plan on stopping some sick dissections at my school if they’ll actually listen. I already tried emailing the teacher but I have the feeling the teacher ignored it because, well, he’s the type that would. Still, I’m going to put up a fight. One dissection planned if for a fetal pig. Sick. xP

i’ve been telling friends and familiy about vegetarianism
August 26th, 2008 at 11:55 pm
I made the pledge to become a vegetarian at least 30 days, I really want to be strong enough to do that because I love animals; also I have joined to a group of volunteers pro animals, and i’m working with them…. we have a lot of work rescueing dogs from the streets, we take care of them, take’em to the vet and finally when they are healthy, we look for a new home for them, where we know that they are going to love’em as much as we do.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:25 am
Being a vegetarian is a lot more than just eating fruits, vegetables, grains and nuts. It is a way of life. I was not aware of how animals are treated so we can enjoy an egg or a glass of milk. Our family can pledge to not consume so much milk and to cut back on eggs untill we are able to eliminate them from our diet. We make sure we aren’t purchasing cloting items as well that are made from animals. Even one step toward helping is a worthwhile goal. I will make sure I make others aware of how they can also help.

Thanks.
August 27th, 2008 at 8:34 am
Im already a vegan…
I have already replaced everything in my house with animal friendly/free products…
I dont use anything tested on animals…
I also use environmentally friendly products which have less impact on the environment…therefor the critters that inhabit it.
Currently, I live in an area where there are ALOT of companion animals dumped on the side of the road and left to die. Anytime I see one, I try to capture it… rehab it, and adopt it out to a loving family. Currently I am taking them in faster than I can adopt them out.
I have in my home currently 8 dogs and 1 cat. Animal rights/rescue is on my blood, in ever fiber of my being and I will continue my work with animals and animal right till the day I die…

For as long as I can remember, my heart belonged to nothing but animals. At the age of eight, I refused anything that had animal fur, leather, or anthing of that nature. When I was graduated high school, I started rescuing animals. My first rescue was my dog Roscoe. He was just a puppy wandering the streets. I just recently gave him to my parents who lost their own dog Shadow to cancer. My second rescue Marty was put down in March after my neighbors ran him over and didn’t tell. My three year old watched me leave the house with Marty and was still awake when I came home without him. Eight months later she still talks about him. I’m very proud to say that a new generation of animal lovers will start with my kids, and I hope they carry it to their own kids. There’s nothing more beautiful, besides the love of your children, than the love of animals. Until I die, I will continue to be a voice for animals.
August 27th, 2008 at 11:31 am
I’m going to donate food to a local animal shelter.

I am not a student, but rather a mother. My daughter is in 2nd grade and has been a vegetarian for almost 5 years right along with me. This school year she is taking a back pack made of recycled plastic bottles, she takes her vegetarian lunch everyday in a reusable lunch bag. She is also (along with her father) working on changing lunch policies at her school to include, fresh vegetables grown on site, organic items and always a meat free option (that isn’t pb&j). Her father is a professional chef and is hoping to remake the entire cafeteria plan for her school with in the next few years, and take it district wide after that. We strongly believe that a healthy and nutritous diet adds so much to the learning potential of children that there is no way this program can fail. Keep us in your thoughts as we take on this mega task.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:16 pm
I get all of pets from the shelter. I try not to eat meat.

August 27th, 2008 at 8:11 pm
I try to only buy crulity free products and this year I want to have more meatless meals
August 27th, 2008 at 8:54 pm
The changes I am gonna make this year to help animals is to not be afraid to be myself. For years I have hid the fact I am a vegetarian. Some times the pressure to fit in is unbearable and thanks to your site I have the courage to stick up for my beliefs. I am also a part of my high school soccer team and have started making my team mates aware of how inhumane it is to wear kangaroo leather cleats. I have converted a few and plan to convert more of my friends. Thanks Peta for letting me know it is okay to be myself. Jeremy
August 27th, 2008 at 9:56 pm
i am currently a vegitarian, trying to become vegan. i definately need help! i’m currently a member/guardian of the aspca and i donate supplies to my local shelter. i’ve adopted my 2 cats and i’m currently caring for 2 stray cats that live outside my work (unfotunatley i cant take them home). a friend built a house for them to protect them from inclimate weather. i have always been vocally agains wearing fur or using any products that are tested on animals. i try to lead by setting a good example and i know that a few people have followed. hopefully, with education, more people will make positive changes to help protect animals!
August 27th, 2008 at 10:10 pm
I’m buying products at the health food store that do not do animal testing.
August 27th, 2008 at 10:12 pm
We volunteer at the animal shelter to walk the dogs and help clean the kennels.
August 27th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
My daughter has been a vegetarian since she was 6, she’s now 12.
August 27th, 2008 at 11:32 pm
I am making an effort this year to do a total lifestyle change. not only am I going vegetarian, but i am trying to educate as many people as I can about animal cruelty–from animal farms to medical testing. I work in the healthcare field so raising awareness is top on my list. Wish me luck!!!
August 28th, 2008 at 9:57 am
I’ve only been a vegan for two years, but I’m so glad i could convert my best freinds {and a few teachers} to go veg!
August 28th, 2008 at 1:44 pm
I’m finally giving up cheese. This makes me 100% vegan now. My son is having possible issues processing dairy, so foremostly I’m doing it for him but all the animals and our planet will benefit. And hey, maybe I’ll lose a few pounds too.
August 28th, 2008 at 1:46 pm
I am not writing this for the bag but to help raise awareness in something very simple that everyday people (such as you and I) can do to help stop the overpopulation of animals.
About a year ago an elderly couple on our street brought us a little black kitten which obviously was still nursing when it was taken from it’s mother. Apparently some girls threw it out of a car a procedded to try and run it over. Thanks to the courage of a 70 year old lady the beautiful kitten was saved. We now have a beautiful, extremely loving cat.
What I noticed was at the end of our street many kittens, cats and dogs were getting periodically “dumped” by careless, insensitive human beings. I couldn’t take in every cat and dog but what my family and I have done is put up a sign at the dead end part of our street with a sign, kind of like the baby signs at hospitals and firestations, only for animals.
People can bring their unwanted pets to our house (we put our address up on the sign) and with NO QUESTIONS ASKED, we will take and find their animals homes.
With the help of our local “Friends of Animals” organization we are able to fix the cats/kittens for only $15.
So my advice to others, especially people who notice LOTS of abandoned pets in their neighborhoods. PLEASE post signs so that your house may be a “safe” zone for the animals as opposed to them being dumped on the street!!
Thanks and God Bless You All
August 28th, 2008 at 1:50 pm
I’d like to add to my initial comment. I guess if I could nominate someone for this bag it would be the 70 year old lady who took on a car full of girls attempting to run over a kitten.
I could give you her name and phone number if she were to recieve it!!
Thanks again..
August 28th, 2008 at 5:16 pm
We live near an animal shelter where, more often than not, animals are put to sleep. So sad. We are encouraging our friends and relatives who are interested in getting a pet to go to the shelter and where they can save a new friend from certain death. Have a blessed day.
August 28th, 2008 at 5:26 pm
My long time partner Jeremy and I recently became vegetarians. I am a college intructor and am dedicating myself to informing my students, colleagues, family and friends about animal rights, green living and an all around PETA mentality.
Tom Binh’s messenger bag would be a perfect way both to carry literature, vegetarian lunches and all of my educator needs throughout Chicago. It would also be a wonderful way to educate people to PETA’s mission, as it’s such a sharp bag it’s sure to draw compliments - a great conversation starter!
Thanks for all your good works, PETA. Here’s to a thoughtful school year.
August 28th, 2008 at 5:35 pm
I recently became a vegetarian (2 weeks ago yesterday) and I am addicted! I became interested as a result of having 2 co-workers that are vegetarians as well as a sister and my little niece who has been a vegetarian all her short life! SHE IS 4 years old!!! Last weekend I went to a BBQ with friends and to my surprise they had bought veggie burgers for me AND they told me that they had listened to me talk about being a vegetarian and they went out that same day and bought soy milk and loved it! I am so proud and amazed that in just one conversation people would react that way. My husband and my children continue to eat meat but they are surely interested in my new ways and they are trying everything I have eaten so far. I love my new way of living and will continue to do so for ever!
August 28th, 2008 at 5:52 pm
I’m going to try to inspire family and friends to try more meatless recipes.
August 28th, 2008 at 5:54 pm
I adopted a shelter dog and I am collecting coupons for pet food for our local shelter. I have also been replacing all of my shoes that were leather as I can afford to. I believe strongly in animal rights.
August 28th, 2008 at 6:43 pm
This year I plan to go Vegan! I am also planning to volunteer at a local animal sheltor. All of my pets are animals that me and my family have rescued and include 2 dogs and 3 cats. I would like to encourage people to rescue animals rather than to purchase from stores or breeders. I have never worn actual fur but then again I never thought about the poor animals used to make wallets, purses and shoes so this year I am getting rid of any items around my home made from animal skins and going 100% fur free.
August 28th, 2008 at 7:53 pm
Earlier this year we rescued 2 cats who had been cramped into a tiny crate and left in the hot sun in a park. Judging from the stench of pee on them, and how they scattered out when we took the crate home opened it, they had obviously been traumatized and in there for a while. We took them into the local shelter to be adopted and while one of them was deemed “adoptable”, the other was found to be too “wild” and was to be euthanized. We didn’t think he was too wild but just extremely traumatized and naturally very afraid and distrustful of human contact. So we re-adopted him in spite of our allergies and began the long process of gently allowing him to trust human contact once again. Today, we are very happy to report that “Charlie Brown” (as he has been named) allows us to stroke him back, feed him treats by hand and even cuddles and sleeps on our bed next to us at night. He also enjoys the company of his brother Seymour, a rescued Pomeranian mix. Both Charlie and Seymour have taught us to care for abandoned and abused animals and we are thinking of fostering more rescues this year.
August 28th, 2008 at 8:24 pm
I’ve been a vegetarian for over a year now and have been volunteering with the local Humane Society since December. I’m a trained pet adoption counselor. It is the goal of HSEC to send every animal in the shelter home with a loving family that understands the importance of the relationship they are about to take on and that respects the life they are being entrusted with. It’s my responsibility to make sure that each cat I adopt out has found a permanent, loving home with a family that understands their new companion’s individual needs and personality quirks. It’s such a wonderful feeling to see someone pick up a cat and fall in love on the spot.
My husband and I look forward to adopting a shelter animal as soon as we live in a pet-friendly apartment.
August 28th, 2008 at 9:36 pm
We care for a colony of feral cats that live in our neighborhood. We got them fixed so that there are no more ferals. We look out for their health. And they provide us with loads of entertainment!
August 28th, 2008 at 10:57 pm
I’ve been a vegetarian for three years. I had open-heart surgery four years ago for a congenital defect at 17 years of age and decided that I never wanted to put any more unnecessary risk on my health than necessary. After that I read more into vegetarianism and felt horrible for the animals as well. This year, as in years past, I intend on imparting my story to others to help inspire awareness in those around me as to what the consequences of their actions can really cause. Though my heart surgery was not related to eating meat, other heart surgery is.
August 29th, 2008 at 3:27 am
I hope to soon be 100% vegan. This is made difficult, because I have one semester of college left (sometime the McDonald’s Dollar Menu is all you can afford), my decision to join the Marine Corps and because my doctor doesn’t seem to have any dietary advice other then “eat plenty of steak and eggs” in regards to building muscle. I am lucky, in that I have been told there are vegetarian MRE’s (Meals Ready to Eat) in the Marine Corps. I understand that I may be faced with some difficult choices when in the Marines about eating meat or animal products (like “eat meat or nothing at all”), but I will be proactive in my attempts to not eat them. Also, I am going to begin the search for vegan-friendly combat boots. My friends already serving swear they exist, but that doesn’t make the search any easier.
Other then my diet, my roommate and I have recently adopted a kitten (we found it behind a hockey rink). I am sure most people would have just said “oh, a cat” and kept driving, but we felt guilty, stopped the car and picked him up. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to stop and save him, because he really is the best thing anybody has ever found behind a hockey rink! So, if I had a goal in regards to stray animals, it would be no matterwhere I go in life (military or otherwise), is to keep in mind that animals have rights to.
August 29th, 2008 at 9:56 am
i going to tell all my friends at school about being a vegetarian and ask them to be a vegetarian too:)! i have already been a vegetarian for almost a year. i am ten years old and would love to help animals:)!

Starting sunday I’m being reunited with my band and i’ve been hoping to start introducing some animals right themes to our lyrical content.
August 29th, 2008 at 7:01 pm
I AM A SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER. I WORK WITH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN. I PLAN ON EDUCATING THEM AND THEIR CAREGIVERS ABOUT THE HORRIBLE EFFECTS THEIR MEAT BASED DIETS HAVE ON THEIR HEALTH. IN THE PROCESS I HAVE ALREADY BEGUN EDUCATING SCHOOL PERSONEL ABOUT ANIMAL RIGHTS.
August 29th, 2008 at 7:27 pm
I’ve been vegetarian for about 5 years, but now I am completely vegan. I bake vegan cookies and cakes for my family (who refuse to stop eating meat despite all the research I present to them), and I buy them organic free-range eggs because I figure if they are going to eat eggs, they might as well be from happy chickens. Rome wasn’t built in a day! Also, I have been taking care of a few dogs who were abandoned in my neighborhood. I wear animal rights shirts and have a PETA tote bag, which gets strangers asking me about animal rights, which is always a good thing! At work (at a coffee shop) I am always quick to point out the benefits of soy as opposed to cow’s milk, and I have several converts so far. At school there is an abundance of vegan options for lunch, so I make sure to buy them and keep them popular!
August 30th, 2008 at 1:28 am
I have been a vegetarian for nearly two years. I have stopped buying leather and suede, etc. I eat mostly vegan foods, converting all my vitamins to vegan form, buying leather free shoes , and making sure my dog is getting food and products not tested on his fellow companions. I vocalize every day how much animal cruelty there is in all parts of everyday life. Some people have no idea, and when i tell them about what goes on, the most frequent reaction is denial. I love PETA and all the companies and people who advocate for animals. This is an important cause. I was taking a biomedical ethics class last summer and the topic of animal testing was one of our assignments. My group all agreed that animal testing was ok because it saved people lives. I was so upset I asked my professor to form my own group. The next day i brought in all the info i had on animal testing i got from your website. I even gave the professor the dvd that comes with it, she has promised to show it during the semester when discussing this topic. I think that it will reach someone, and that is enough for me.
August 30th, 2008 at 4:03 am
Well, I don’t have children but I have made some very big changes in my life this year. In January my husband and I adopted a dog that one rescued from a shelter before being euthanized. We got him from Last Day Dog Rescue. Since then I have been trying to get involved with volunteering for LDDR. (No luck yet but I keep trying to have my schedule match their needs!)
On August 12 I stopped eating meat. I signed the 30 day PETA pledge but have no intentions of going back. I have also switched to cruelty free shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, fabric softener and toothpaste.
I feel very proud of the changes and hope to convince my friends to do the same!
August 30th, 2008 at 12:08 pm
I work w/ the humane society year-round so it’s hard to make this ’school-time-specific’. Cleaning, feeding, and caring for the animals that have not yet been adopted. It is genuinely rewarding year-round…and the organization needs help All Of The Time…..so it’s a non-stop venture.
August 30th, 2008 at 7:53 pm
I am a vegetarian, and I’m raising my nearly 11 month old daughter to be the same. It makes me happy to know that your site has educated me enough to give her proper nutrition and stay healthy for life! I also dont wear ANY animal products!
August 30th, 2008 at 10:09 pm
For the upcoming school year, I am going to try to convince everyone to become vegetarian, or at least dedicate a day once a month to going meat free, and loving it!
August 31st, 2008 at 12:24 pm
We are starting a vegan lifestyle and cooking blog in addition to participating in many other animal-friendly activities.
September 1st, 2008 at 12:43 am
Volunteer at the local humane society!
September 1st, 2008 at 3:02 am
I just watched PETA’s video about apes used in movies and advertisements. I knew that this was wrong, but had no idea of the extent of damage that is done to these poor animals. I will boycott all products from companies who use apes in their ads and will also boycott movies featuring these animals. I will also contact these organizations and inform them of my decision as well as informing my family, friends, and co-workers of how these animals are treated–thereby encouraging them as well to boycott these companies, their products, and these movies.

Well, I’ve been vegetarian for ages, on the way to being vegan. Also making a project, in New Zealand, it’s like a directory of all the animal rescue groups in Auckland (where I live). Its actually taken ages, almost three terms, and I’m printing 300 copies a week on Wednesday, stress!
I also do a few hours volunteer work every couple of weeks, and I nag my frineds about what they’re eating all the time, but that is nothing too crazy, it’s almost the best bit of being vegetarian!
I sacrifice a Saturday or two a month to go and sit in a caravan with this nice lady and try to catch these chickens that are living in a busy little town and being run over and killed all the time, we then drive out to the country and give them to their new owners, I say sacrifice, but it’s really actually pretty fun. the lady is vegan and we have a great time.
anyway, thats really all I do, hopefully I’ll do more soon, the vegan thing is kinda hard at the moment, my mum is not too keen to cook me (or let me cook) my own meals. anyway, everyone else who’s posted is doing heaps, I’m really impressed, cos NZ is not a big place for vegetarianism, and I’m considered pretty ‘eccentric’, (especially at 14)so everyone keep it up, then they’ll be the weird ones!
September 1st, 2008 at 2:43 pm
This year I’m going to really get active. I’m going to complete all of the missions on the HumaneTeen website, and I’m going to start leaving trails of literature and stickers wherever I go. I’m also going to continue my vegan diet, but in addition to it, I’m going to eat as many organically and local foods as possible. On the 16th of September I am also plannning to attend a rally at the Harrisburg, PA capital building, to encourage my legislators to pass 2 bills that would help dogs in puppy mills. I’m really excited for this event, because I have never attended anything like it. I hope that I will be able to attend more events like this in the coming year.

September 1st, 2008 at 6:25 pm
Already avegetarian, I will become vegan.
September 2nd, 2008 at 10:55 am
I adopted three laboratory rats. They were used for psychological experiments at a local university and when the academics were done with the experiments they were going to just kill them. This year I am going to make sure that these rats live in safety and comfort for the remainder of their natural lives.
September 2nd, 2008 at 2:51 pm
I started vegetarianism 3 years ago. Friends were laughing all the time but I gave several speaches at school. Now more than 10 friends have been turned vegetarian or even vegan. Together we’re taking action to stop cruel against animals.
September 2nd, 2008 at 3:16 pm
I am going to walk the talk:
> Engage people in conversation about animal issues
> Have with me always materials to hand out to people with questions
I am a vegitarian going in the direction of vegan. I take pride in having a low carbon footprint.
September 2nd, 2008 at 3:49 pm
spread the word and also click daily @ http://www.animalrescuesite.com to do my part to help and also buy products that do not test on animals.
Thanks.

So cool!!!!
September 2nd, 2008 at 4:07 pm
I’ve been flirting off and on with a vegetarian diet for the past couple of years, and lost about 60 pounds in the process. After my weight plateaued for several months, I made a committment to be a full-time vegtaraian. The scale has started to move again, and I’ve lost another 11 pounds in three weeks. I have about another 50 pounds to go but, with a meatless diet that is satisfying and rewarding, I know I’ll have no problem reaching my goal!
September 3rd, 2008 at 2:10 pm
I am a vegitarian, My mom is a vegitarian as well. For my film and literature class, we have to make a documentary on an issue that is harmful to society and effects you personally. Cruelity to animals is a huge problem not only in my community but around the world. I am working on a way to document cruelity to animals to aware the human population that it is wrong to mistreat animals.

I’ve been vegan for nearly 30 days and have actually found it to be easier, and better tasting, than I thought! I have tried to answer questions honestly by friends and family who think I am now on an unhealthy “diet.” My hope is to educate them that animal free is not unhealthy, and that this is a lifestyle, not a diet. I get a kick out of making yummy recipes that they love and seeing their faces when I tell them it’s vegan! Someday they’ll see things the vegan way!

September 8th, 2008 at 3:03 pm
I have multiple sclerosis and since have become a vegan. I found that planting a graden in the backyard would not only help with the crazy increase in the price of produce, it is a good way to be “green”, because the produce isn’t brought to me. It is also a gret way for me to be active and to spend time with my family. My kids are eating more veggies. I think it is because they are putting alot of effort in the garden and have a new appreciation. Thanks for the contest!!

September 13th, 2008 at 11:42 am
Our family is starting a “not-for-profit” organization called “Happy Trails Animal Rescue and Retirement Center”. Getting the Assumed Name Certificate is only a formality, as we have already saved several animals from “next-day” euthanization. Our last rescue came from Houston - a puppy mill terrier mix. We found out after her rescue that she was preggers. We are now adopting out 7 really cute babies.

We actually just adopted a new ferret to our family. The family couldn’t take care of it & didn’t really have the time. We have 1 ferret already & wasn’t looking for another but I was afraid of who they might give it to, because so many people abandon or just don’t know how to take good care of their pets.

There tons of ferril cats in our neighborhood that no one takes care of or feeds. Over the past two months our family has been able to ‘adopt’ two of the them. We feed them when we can, and always make sure there is plenty of fresh water out for them. Surprisingly they’ve gotten friendly.
September 14th, 2008 at 11:19 am
I donate money to the local animal shelters and also donate my time walking the animals and I also make sure to mention to others how important it is to adopt an animal from the shelter because they really need homes. I also don’t eat meat, and don’t use products that are made out of animals or that are tested on them.
September 14th, 2008 at 1:00 pm
My kids have decided to use their birthday parties as a “Help the Stray Animals” drive. Instead of getting birthday presents at their birthday gatherings, they are going to ask for dog or cat food, treats, or toys and then donate them to our local animal shelters. We’ve already done one and it was a great success!

My boyfriend and I decided that we are going vegetarian. We’ve been so for about 3 weeks and he has lost app. 15 lbs and lowered his blood pressure. I haven’t lost nearly as much weight but I definitely feel much better. We feel so much better knowing that we don’t eat dead flesh anymore. Such a big and bold move considering that only a few years ago we did the Atkins Diet to lose weight.

What I always do…teach respect for ourselves and others and the environment. If we respect ourselves we will respect others, and if we really respect others (which includes animals) we won’t do anything passively or aggresively to harm them. If we respect the environment we provide a place for all to live for many years to come - every part of the animal and plant kingdom.
I try to do this in words for my toddler and neieces and in action. This is the one rule of my house, respect.
September 15th, 2008 at 8:38 am
Our friend pass away with a 4 ft iquana. We have adopted him until a nice permanent home can be found for him. Also, I plan on working with the government agencies to build some kind of support system for temporary shelters for animals located in areas where disasters are occuring so that the people do not have to worry about their pets when they have to evacuate an area due to flood, fire, etc.
September 15th, 2008 at 8:54 am

I have been 100% vegan for over six years now. It is a lifestyle that I easily adopted because of my love for all animals. I have such a passion for animal rights that through education I have been able to successfully teach many members of my family as well as several within my circle of friends to also adopt the vegan lifestyle. I have over 14 nieces and nephews and twice a month we volunteer at our local animal shelter. Usually at least 12 of my 14 young nieces and nephews are able to volunteer and we do everything from cleaning to walking and playing with the animals. We do anything and everything they need help with. It is such a great experience for the children and they seem to not only have a lot of fun, but also are learning about all kinds of animals and gain a true appreciation and love for all animals.
